Baptisms - Join us as we celebrate the recent baptism of Connor and Renee! Praise the Lord for His goodness and mercy.
A BIG Thank You - Wow, Newark Naz...you served our community so well. We had 216 people participate (adults, teens, children) in Big Serve which equaled approximately 505 hours. Thanks to your generosity we raised approximately $1,500 and received a $1,000 matching grant from the South Central Ohio District to be used on Big Serve projects. We celebrate God's goodness and that He allowed us to provide the following projects:
72 people made Care Kits to be distributed through We Love Wednesdays
31 Kid City students made gift projects to be distributed
25 teens and adults worked at the Boys and Girls Club
Deep cleaned kitchens at the Look Up Center
Weeded and planted flowers at Kingdom Pillars
Planted flowers at Coalition of Care
Weeded and tilled community gardens with Together We Grow Gardens
Served meals at Salvation Army on Friday and Saturday evenings
Painted a neighbor's porch on the east side of Newark
Contributed graduation cards with gift cards for 13 Fostering Further graduates
Contributed 10 apartment "Starting Kits" for Fostering Further graduates getting their own place
Painted and reorganized the Firehouse Food Pantry
Baptism Class, Sunday, May 19, 2:15 - 3:15 PM - If you would like to go public with your faith and be baptized, please click here to sign up for our Baptism Class which will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 2:15 PM in the Conference Room at our Williams Street campus. Childcare will be provided.
Membership Class, Sunday, May 19, 3:15 - 6:15 PM - If you are interested in joining Newark Naz, or if you want to learn more about us, you are invited to our Membership Class on Sunday, May 19. We will meet in the Conference Room at our Williams Street campus. Sign up here if you would like to attend. Childcare will be provided.
Save the Date for VBS: "Brave" - Vacation Bible School is June 17-20 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at the Williams Street Campus. Children ages 4 years old (potty trained) through those who have completed 6th grade are welcome to join us for four days of learning about Jesus and lots of great laughs. Watch for registration coming soon!
Teen Camp is Monday, June 24 - Thursday, June 27 at Higher Ground Conference and Retreat Center in West Harrison, IN. Students who have completed 6th grade thru 2024 graduates are welcome to attend. It will be a great week of worship, prayer stations, group games, and lots of fun! Camp is $210 per student if registered before June 1. On June 2 the price increases to $225. Registration is done online using this link. Please give your check or cash to Pastor Christina by June 12. Checks can be made to “Newark Church of the Nazarene” with your student’s name and “camp” in the memo.
Kid's Camp is one of the BEST weeks of the year! It’s a time filled with worship just for kids, learning the Bible, playing, laughing, dancing, and being the incredible children that God has created them to be! They will have the opportunity to fish, climb a rock wall, play in the lake, go down a slime slip-n-slide, and experience God’s beautiful creation. All children who have completed 1st grade - 6th grade are welcome to attend our District Kid’s Camp. The dates for camp are Monday, July 8, 2024 - Friday, July 12, 2024 at Camp Cotubic in Bellefontaine, OH. The Early Bird price for Kid’s Camp is $240 per child. After June 7 the price increases to $265. Please register your children online using this link. Registration closes June 30. Word on the Street - Word on the Street is our midweek children's discipleship time. We meet together each Wednesday evening for worship and learning from God's word from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Your children will not want to miss the fun!
Men and Women's Bible Study - Our Wednesday evening men and women's Bible study groups meet from 6:30-8:00 PM at the Firehouse. No need to sign up...just show up! If you have any questions, please contact Merel and Linda Pickenpaugh at lmpickenpaugh@windstream.net.
Newark Naz Life Groups - We believe life is better surrounded by people who encourage, support, and challenge you to grow in your relationship with Christ. God created us to live life connected to Him and to the people around us. If you're interested in joining a Life Group at Newark Naz or would like to talk to someone about our groups, take the first step to finding your life group by completing this form. Five Ways to Give @ Newark Naz - We offer five convenient ways to give at Newark Naz. In person on Sunday morning: drop your gift into one of the offering baskets or in the offering box in the sanctuary. Online: through our website or by using our app (go to your Google Play or App Store and download NewarkNaz). Through the mail: 200 S. Williams St., Newark, OH 43055. Newark Naz Podcast - You can now listen to recent sermons on our Newark Naz Podcast available on our website or through our Newark Naz app.
Newark Naz App - Did you know that Newark Naz has an app? You can see upcoming events, read the daily Bible reading, sign up for a class, watch sermons, give your tithes and offerings and donate to ministries...all from the app! Go to your Google Play or App Store and download NewarkNaz.
Engage Database - Another way to stay connected with each other is through Engage. To request an account, we ask that you go here and click “request account.” You will receive an email allowing you to set up your account. Please make sure all your contact information is valid and updated. You can also add a photo of yourself and your family members. Only staff and leadership will be able to see all this information and you can control the privacy settings. This database is a great way to ENGAGE in the work of God.
Daily Bible Reading Plan - Looking to spend 2024 immersed in God's word? Pastor Dan recommends this reading and listening plan as an excellent resource to help you draw closer to God in the coming year.
SOCKS NEEDED - Did you know that new socks are one of the most needed, but least donated items for those in tough situations? Newark Naz is collecting new socks for children and adults to be distributed during Summer Serve in Cactus, TX and We Love Wednesdays. If you would like to share the love and donate new socks, you can drop them in the Give Tank at our Williams St. campus or give them to a Summer Serve team member. Thank you for loving well!
Food Pantry Needs - This month we are collecting canned meats, drink mixes, sugar, soup and hygiene items. Donations of these items can be placed in the Give Tank. If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can place a check in the offering or text "newarknaz" to 779-77 or give through our Newark Naz app. Thank you for your continued support of our community and helping those in need.
Our We Love Wednesdays outreach is continuing to meet the needs of our Licking County homeless the last Wednesday of each month. WE NEED LIGHT WEIGHT BLANKETS! Please drop off blankets in the Give Tank at either of our campuses. If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can place a check in the offering or text "newarknaz" to 779-77 or give through our Newark Naz app. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ by caring for those in need!

Helping Hands Fund - As we continue to see much need within our community, please consider giving over and above your regular tithe and offering to help those in need by giving to the Helping Hands Fund. On-going offerings that are given to the Helping Hands Fund will help people from our Newark Naz family, and will also help our partner community agencies to assist our neighbors and friends in the larger Newark area. You may give in the offering by marking your check "Helping Hands," or give electronically through our Newark Naz App or by texting "newarknaz" to 779-77 and choosing "Helping Hands."
